The High School NAIDOC Week Debating Challenge is held annually between aboriginal students from Macintyre and Inverell High Schools and this year Macintyre High School debated their way to the top. The debating challenge is supported each year by the Border Rivers-Gwydir CMA through its Indigenous Cultural Heritage Program.

The first meeting of the Regional Strategic Invasive Species Plan Steering Committee was held yesterday at the Border Rivers-Gwydir Catchment Management Authority (CMA) office in Inverell. The NSW Department of Primary Industries Vertebrate Pest Research Unit has been contracted by the Border Rivers-Gwydir CMA to develop the plan.
